Boston-Power Aims to Rival Tesla With Gigawatt Lithium Battery Factories.

"Eric Wesoff reports on very interesting development in China. Boston Power is building its own Megafactory to produce lithium batteries and even the super cheap urban EV for ... $8,000. It will be the game changer for the booming market for EVs in Chinawhere EV sales are up 320% last year. We have discussed LG Chem Megafactory before and now you can appreciate more recent move of our strategic partner Ganfeng Lithium. China is building very fast its new strategic industry - electric cars. International Lithium is the part of the vertically integrated Lithium business with Ganfeng Lithium in China."

International Lithium Corp. Update on Avalonia (Ireland) and Mariana (Argentina) Lithium Projects.

Mr. Kirill Klip, President, International Lithium Corp. comments, "We are very encouraged with the drill targeting potential revealed in the new results from our exploration program in Ireland. On the completion of the regional program we will be ready to drill test the new targets.

Europe is moving quickly into an electric vehicle early adoption stage with a record number of electric vehicle sales last year and a rapidly growing Tesla Supercharger network. With our important strategic partner Ganfeng Lithium, the Avalonia Lithium project aims to identify potential raw material supply for the rapidly growing Ganfeng Lithium business in Europe.

In Argentina, also with our key strategic partner Ganfeng Lithium, the Mariana Lithium Potash project is at the forefront of a developing mining alliance announced in Beijing last year between China and Argentina. I am particularly encouraged by the announcement by China in January of plans to invest $250 billion in Latin America this decade, which will spur further development of commodities in the region.

International Lithium continues to seek and develop security of supply opportunities using specialized experience developed by the Company and partners since its inception. Read more"

Sales of new-energy cars surge in China

"In the wake of the continuous expansion of the new-energy car market in China, local carmakers have rolled out models targeting niche customer groups in the market, such as the recent debut of 5 series plug-in hybrid cars by joint venture BMW Brilliance Automotive for the luxury-car sector and a new-energy SUV by BYD Tang, according to Guangzhou-based Nanfang Daily.
Sales of new-energy cars in the nation tripled year-on-year to 27,200 cars in December last year, including 12,000 pure electric passenger cars and 3,074 plug-in hybrid passenger cars, with the combined amount skyrocketing to 14 times the year before, 8,301 pure electric commercial cars, nine times the amount the previous year and 3,803 plug-in hybrid commercial cars, two times the number last year.
Output of new-energy cars for 2014 rose to 83,900 cars, four times the number last year, including 37,800 pure electric passenger cars, three times the amount last year, 16,700 plug-in hybrid passenger cars, 22 times the amount last year, 15,700 pure electric commercial cars, four times the amount last year, and 13,800 plug-in hybrid commercial cars, two times the amount last year.
Along with the expansion of the new-energy car market, models available on the market have become increasingly diversified, covering the high, medium and low-end sectors. In addition to the two aforementioned models, Audi is also slated to launch its first electric car A3 e-tron soon.
"Along with technological progress, carmakers should develop models targeting niche sectors of the market," remarks Chen Qingtai, an industry insider.
